Burgex Expands Geological Services and Enhances Client Experience with New Staff Additions

Burgex Mining Consultants is excited to announce the addition of two new full-time Consulting Geologists and a new Director of Sales and Business Development to our talented team.

James Balagna

James Balagna, III, CPG has joined the Burgex Mining Consultants team as a Senior Consulting Geologist. Mr. Balagna has an extensive career spanning decades conducting processes such as mineral exploration, district-wide three-dimensional geologic modeling, project management, ore control, geological logging, pit mapping, and more. As a Senior, Chief, or Consulting Geologist for world-class mining companies such as Freeport-McMoRan Copper and Gold, Roxgold, Glamis Marigold Mining Company, as well as Klondex Gold and Silver Mining Company, Mr. Balagna was instrumental to operations at the now-producing Miami, Sierrita, Chino, Yaramoko and Fire Creek Mines. Mr. Balagna has demonstrated a remarkably high level of competence in the mineral exploration and mining world that will be a terrific asset to Burgex’s clients. As a Certified Professional Geologist, Mr. Balagna provides a level of in-house qualification that Burgex is looking forward to applying to significant projects throughout the United States.

Jake Alexander

Jake Alexander also recently joined the Burgex team as a Junior Consulting Geologist. He holds a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Tennessee. In addition, he has completed fieldwork across North America and in South Africa. He also served as an intern with Lithium Americas Corporations at the Thacker Pass Mine. He also interned at ExxonMobil developing stacked-pay drill plans for multiple oil-producing formations in the Permian Basin of West Texas. As a result, Mr. Alexander is passionate about performing thorough field investigations, interpreting surficial and subsurface geological data, developing system models, and ultimately providing increased value to projects throughout the mineral exploration and mining process.

Bill Schnieders

In addition to Mr. Balagna and Mr. Alexander, the company has brought on a highly qualified Sales and Business Development Director. This individual will help Burgex better serve its clients. Bill Schnieders is a mining industry veteran with over 30 years of experience covering the United States. Mr. Schneiders has a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He also has won multiple awards as a Sales and District Manager for Nalco Water. Mr. Schnieders began his career as a general laborer working underground in West Virginia. He’s maintained a keen interest in the industry ever since. His experience spans multiple commodities from coal to metals and construction aggregates. Without a doubt, he is passionate about client success and problem-solving. As a result, he is looking forward to growing the schedule and quality of mining consulting and mineral exploration services that Burgex provides.

“We feel that the addition of James, Jake, and Bill to our team will greatly enhance both the breadth and quality of the geological consulting services that we can offer our clients. With strong experience in mineral exploration, these geologists are joining the team at a perfect time. The hunt for battery minerals is only growing in the Western United States. Construction materials are looking to ramp up for big infrastructure projects. They have the experience and knowledge necessary to carry a mining project from prospecting all the way through advanced exploration, permitting, and feasibility.” – Stuart Burgess, CEO
